Parents
are the most concerned individuals when it comes to plagiarism.
Initially, they think that their child is good at writing
and deserves the good grades, whereas the case is different
in reality. The student is not only cheating the teachers
but also the parents by ordering from these sites. We had
a chat with some of the affected parents and we reproduce
below what they had to say:
"
I am father of three and have always wanted to provide them
with the best possible education. I was quite surprised
when I found out that my elder son, Bob, who is not as good
as my daughters, got good grades for his Book Report Assignment.
I am quite positive that I never saw that lad compile a
report for his final paper. When I got suspicious of my
lad's attitude towards his studies I decided to find out.
I logged on to his system one day and explored the history
folder in an attempt to find the sites that made him successful.
I was appalled on coming across many sites that promote
plagiarism and the teachers are unable to do something about
it. They should take action against such sites before it's
too late."
Mr. John Gibson
"
Things have changed a lot. We never had to seek help from
other sources than libraries in our days but now, students
are always on the net looking for information. My boy Sid
has visited many sites that offer free papers and by going
through these sites, his knowledge ceases to increase. I
wanted my son to become a learned person but the way he
is studying these days, with the help of pro-plagiarism
sites, it seems unlikely that he will become a learned person.
The only way he could prove me wrong is by turning over
a new leaf and taking guidance from teachers and professors
only."
Mr. and Mrs. James Batistuta
"
Teachers should guide students throughout the process of
completion of assignments because if they are not helpful,
then most students will go for 'other' resources. I am not
against help but what is the use of help that is not only
harming your creativity but also lures you to deceive teachers
and parents. My son goes for cheating sites and his teachers
know about it. Instead of opposing plagiaristic sites, they
should encourage students to consult libraries and teachers
during their free time."
